dr. Daan Oostveen

Daan F. Oostveen (Eindhoven 1985) is sinds 2025 Universitair Docent Filosofie van de Religie in de leerstoelgroep Filosofie en Humanisme. Oostveen studeerde wijsbegeerte en vergelijkende moderne letterkunde aan de Universiteit Gent. Hij promoveerde in 2020 aan de Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam met een proefschrift over multiple religious belonging onder begeleiding van André van der Braak en Manuela Kalsky. Als promovendus verbleef hij in 2018 aan de departement voor filosofie van de Volksuniversiteit in Beijing, China. Als postdoctoraal onderzoeker is hij in 2025 verbonden aan de faculteit filosofie van de National Taiwan University. Hij werkte tussen 2019 en 2022 als postdoctoraal onderzoeker aan de Universiteit Utrecht met Rosi Braidotti aan een onderzoek over de Nieuwe Geesteswetenschappen in het kader van het World Humanities Report (UNESCO/Volkswagen Foundation). Daarnaast doceerde hij verschillende vakken in de religiewetenschappen aan dezelfde universiteit. Momenteel is hij ook hoofdredacteur van het academische tijdschrift Future Humanities in Oxford.
