Workplace Education Research Utrecht (pilot + follow-up)
After the pilot, the Workplace Education Research Utrecht will continue the project for two years. In this project, Utrecht schools and knowledge institutions will build a structural, sustainable connection between education, educational development and research.
Bildung in VMBO education
This 1-year pilot project is aimed at setting up a professional learning group (PLG) on the subject of ‘bildung’, for VMBO teachers in the centre and south of the country.

Entanglement: Essays on a unifying humanism
In 2019, VUB and UvH organised a conference focusing on themes from William Connolly's work. As a follow-up, this book project further develops his idea of 'entangled humanism'.
Waardenwijs, a survey of the values that parents instil in their children (completed)
In this study, carried out by researchers from the UvH at the request of the Humanistisch Verbond and child care organisation Humankind, we investigated the values of parents.
The world in the classroom (completed)
In this two-year research and development project, colleagues from the iPabo, UvH and the Marnix Academy researched the knowledge, skills and qualities of primary school teachers to turn classes in which children of newcomers enter into learning groups.
Focus on democracy and tolerance in secondary education in all EU countries (completed)
The research consists of a study of policy in all EU countries and case studies in 11 European countries on the practice of paying attention to values such as democracy and tolerance.
Do mock elections in school help young adults to develop well-considered voting behaviour? (completed)
Many schools in the Netherlands organise student elections prior to (inter)national and local elections. By doing so, they hope to increase young people's involvement in democracy and the rule of law. To what extent is this successful? Take a look at the research of Isolde de Groot and Bram Eidhof.
