Biography

Marrit Woudwijk is PhD candidate at the UvH and works within the research project 'Dialogics of Justice'. The project is led by dr. Nicole Immler and it studies recognition of historical injustices from an interdisciplinary perspective. Marrit's focus is on 'the army'.

Marrit studied Conflict Studies & Human Rights (MA, cum laude) and Liberal Arts & Sciences (BA), with a major in Anthropology. Her previous research includes Remote Warfare, civilian casualties and representation of modern war, in which she focused particularly on Dutch military missions. She has presented her work in seminars, guest lectures and on the journalist platform De Correspondent. 

As an affiliate researcher, she is connected to the Intimacies of Remote Warfare Project at Utrecht University.
