Case Studies Project: Chaplaincy in the Armed Forces (completed)

  • Start: 2016
  • End: 2021
  • Status: completed

Description

In this project, chaplains working in the Armed Forces describe practical cases according to a predetermined format. These case studies are then evaluated by the research community, consisting of the participating chaplains in the Armed Forces and two researchers. The goal is to paint a picture of the work performed by chaplains in the Armed Forces: what do they do, for what reasons and to what ends?

This study is part of the Case Studies Project (CSP) in Chaplaincy Care. The goal is to describe and evaluate case studies that can help identify best practices in chaplaincy care. The full project comprises cases described by six separate research communities. Besides the military, these are general hospitals, psychiatry, elderly care, prisons and mixed.
