November 7 and 8: International Expert seminar Pluralism and Secularism

An international expert seminar at the University of Humanistic Studies (UvH), Utrecht, the Netherlands, on November 7th and 8th, 2013.The context of the seminar ‘Pluralism and Secularism’ is the international research programme ‘Human Dignity in a Post-Secular Society’, initiated by the Institute Kosmopolis and the section Globalization Studies of the UvH, and the Centre for the Study of Culture and Society (CSCS) and the National Law University in Delhi, India.

In a limited group of invited experts we intend to present and discuss research in progress that is related to the complex issues of dignity, secularity and humanism within a pluralistic world, as sketched out below.

The three papers will be brought in by:

• Sitharamam Kakarala and Khalid Anis Ansari (CSCS, Delhi)
• Caroline Suransky, Henk Manschot and Laurens ten Kate (Kosmopolis & UvH, Utrecht)
