National Student Survey 2025: high rating

Again, the University of Humanistic Studies scores well above average in the annual large-scale student survey. For years, our students have expressed great appreciation for their studies.
Teachers and study counsellors receive very positive ratings, 4.15 and 4.26 respectively (on a scale of 1 to 5, with a benchmark of around 3.80 for both components). When asked whether they would choose their study programme again, our students give the UvH a nice average score of 4.25.
Other notable improvements include satisfaction with the atmosphere (4.65 compared to 4.59 last year) and various aspects of engagement and contact, such as “I can reach lecturers when necessary” (4.28 this year, 4.24 last year) and “My programme is open to feedback from students” (4.19 this year, 4.11 last year).
As a new component, students were also asked about student well-being this year, a topical issue in higher education. Although there is no comparative data from previous years, we are delighted with the average rating of 4.09 given by our students.
Director of Education Doret de Ruyter:
"I am extremely proud that students rate our programmes so highly. The lecturers are highly committed to providing good education. They are very involved in the content of their subjects and in the students. The fact that we have been scoring above average on almost all subjects for years is very special. The study facilities and the English of the lecturers remain our focus."
"Student well-being is a high priority at the UvH. This is in line with our humanistic values. I am pleased that we are succeeding in making this visible. I do hope, however, that we will be able to reduce the pressure students feel to perform – that they will want to learn because of their enthusiasm for the programme and intrinsic motivation, rather than because of the pressure they feel to achieve high results."
