Action Research Mental Support Elderly Care (AMOUR)
- Period: December 2022 – December 2023
- Status: completed
Following the COVID-19 pandemic, absenteeism due to mental health issues, sleep disorders, recurring fears and thoughts, increased irritability, concerns about the future and reduced activity levels is on the rise. On top of the expected trends within this sector (double ageing, labour market shortages and more complex care needs), it is becoming clear how important it is for organisations in care, nursing and home care (VVT) to focus on retaining employees.
Description
Offering peer support (CO) to care providers is an effective way of providing mental health care. Action research (AO) has proven to be a successful approach to implementing complex changes and interventions. In addition to evaluating implementation, AO offers the opportunity to develop knowledge. Knowledge about both success and failure factors as well as effectiveness that can be useful for the entire VVT and provides care provider ActiVite with a basis for developing policy on (continuing) CO after this project.
