Profile
As part of the Stronger2Gether consortium, my research contributes to the development of a theoretical framework – the CARES model (Child & Adolescent Relationships and Ecological Support) – and provides insights that can be applied in schools. On the one hand, by examining peer relationships in the classroom (such as friendships, social positions, and group dynamics) and, on the other hand, by examining the well-being and mental health of students in (pre-)vocational education classrooms.
Specific attention is given to students’ intrinsic motivation to exhibit prosocial behavior and to reduce or avoid proactive aggression toward classmates. This motivation is explored together with the students in focus groups and through co-creation, with the goal of fostering positive social relationships and, ultimately, each other’s flourishing.
