Professional ethics and integrity
Research into the normative dimension of professionalism has a long tradition at the University of Humanistic Studies. Whether it concerns teachers, leaders or social workers, every profession has an intrinsic normative character. This normativity requires critical reflection and awareness: what constitutes good conduct in a professional context, and based on which values?
A particular focus within this field of research is the theme of integrity. Integrity is a core value in every profession and is directly linked to broader social themes such as democracy and citizenship. It requires a constant balancing act between personal convictions, professional guidelines and social expectations.
Thinking through these questions is central to our university. We offer space for in-depth study, research and dialogue on the ethical and democratic foundations of professional conduct.
