People with disabilities
We investigate the position and role of people with physical and intellectual disabilities in society. Living together means making room for people who are different from the average; living together therefore requires sensitivity and alertness to think and look inclusively. This theme addresses moral issues of justice, inclusion and participation.
We also focus explicitly on methodological issues. What innovative research methods do we need to make the perspectives of people with disabilities visible and audible? We use art and aesthetics (artistic research) and auto-ethnographic research, in which the researcher’s perspective becomes a scientific source. The target group is always central to this approach: “No research about us without us”.
