Humanist chaplaincy and meaning making
We conduct theoretical and empirical research into existential and moral guidance. We do this in existing fields of spiritual care – healthcare, justice, defence – as well as in new and emerging areas, such as primary healthcare, the police and refugee centres. We reflect on the profession of spiritual counsellor and investigate the uniqueness of humanistic chaplaincy.
Chaplaincy goes beyond individual and group counselling. Increasingly, the focus is also on supporting and training professionals and leaders in moral, spiritual and philosophical issues. These issues arise in various contexts: within organisations, in pluralistic communities and in society as a whole.
