Critical humanism in the 21st century

Humanism is both an ethical worldview that guides everyday personal and institutional practices and a critical intellectual tradition that has engaged dominant forms of thought and action since antiquity. Especially in times of crisis, it addresses fundamental questions: who we are as humans, how we should act, and where restraint is required.

Especially in our current time of crises, these questions gain renewed urgency. Through critical engagement with global humanist traditions across arts, religions, and philosophies, we examine contemporary social, political, and technological practices to resist dehumanization and rethink humanity’s place among other living beings.
