Experimental governance in urban labs: the route to inclusive participation and resilience?
- Status: completed
This project revolved around an experimental method of guidance in so-called Urban Labs, aimed at involving vulnerable young people facing problems in the social domain (youth care, labour market integration and social support). It was a sub-project of one of the routes of the National Science Agenda.
Description
In this subproject, professors Evelien Tonkens and Margo Trappenburg from the University of Humanistic Studies collaborated with researchers from Erasmus University Rotterdam, Leiden University, Utrecht University, the University of Twente, the municipality of Rotterdam, the municipality of Amersfoort and the Veldacademie.
In 2017, the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) awarded funding of up to €2.5 million each to eight routes of the National Science Agenda. The Route Towards resilient societies received funding for the theme programme JOIN – Young people in a resilient society. This theme programme is being developed by a large number of consortia, including the University of Humanistic Studies.
JOIN is one of the 25 routes of the National Science Agenda, a collection of scientific questions that science will focus on in the coming years, which was created with the help of questions from society. On behalf of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, NWO has awarded the so-called Startimpuls grants.
