Privacy statement

In the area of personal data processing, the University of Humanistic Studies ensures that everyone involved in education, research, valorisation activities and business operations is clear about the framework within which they operate and the rights to which each individual is entitled.

  • Who is responsible for data processing at the UvH?

    The board of the Stichting UvH is responsible for the data processing described in this privacy statement. The Stichting UvH is located in Utrecht and is registered in the Chamber of Commerce register under number 41182028.

  • Who can I contact if I have questions about how my personal data is processed?

  • How are my personal data protected?

    The UvH has taken technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss and any form of unlawful processing.

  • Do you share my personal data with third parties?

    No personal data will be shared with third parties. Exceptions will be made for third-party services that work on behalf of and under the responsibility of the UvH. This will only happen if necessary and with your consent. An exception will also be made if the UvH is legally obliged to do so.

    Processors

    If your personal data is shared with third parties who process personal data on behalf of the UvH, the UvH, as the controller, will enter into a processing agreement with this party. This is necessary to ensure that your personal data is processed carefully, securely and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

    Cookies

    When you visit our website and give your consent, the UvH and third parties may place cookies on your computer, phone or tablet. The UvH uses cookies to keep track of user statistics using Google Analytics. They are also used to integrate Google Maps and social media, and to offer more targeted advertisements via Google, Facebook and Instagram. Read more in our cookie statement.

  • How can I exercise my rights?

    The UvH respects the rights that everyone has under existing laws and regulations. The UvH facilitates these rights, such as the right to access and the right to delete your personal data. How you can exercise these rights is described in detail in the procedure for exercising rights for data subjects (PDF, in Dutch). No costs will be charged for exercising these rights unless you abuse them.

    Data Protection Officer

    The UvH has appointed an external Data Protection Officer (DPO) in accordance with the legal requirements of the GDPR. This is Mr C. de Beer. The DPO monitors compliance with privacy legislation and advises the UvH on privacy legislation. The DPO is independent. The DPO reports directly to the Executive Board. The DPO can be contacted at FG@uvh.nl

    Supervisory authority

    Under privacy legislation and regulations, you can also submit complaints to the national supervisory authority, the Dutch Data Protection Authority. You can find the contact details on the website of the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
