Tech Talk # 2:  How can we safeguard our digital autonomy in Europe?

Join us for the second session of this season in a series of public lectures on technology, society and ethics at the UvH on 16 December (11.45-13.00).

Niels Kerssens is Assistant Professor in the Department of Media and Culture Studies at Utrecht University. He will discuss his current work (funded by the NWO Vidi grant) on Digital Autonomy Innovators across Europe, which explores how educators and public organizations are reclaiming agency from Big Tech through more democratic, values-driven technologies. Kerssens’ previous NWO Veni project, Platformization of Primary Education: Public Values at Risk examined how Big Tech platforms reshape public education and challenge fundamental public values.
