Cookie statement

This website uses cookies. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you visit a website. This text file stores information that can be recognised by this website during a subsequent visit.

The University of Humanistic Studies uses cookies to keep track of user statistics using Google Analytics, to integrate Google Maps and social media, and to offer more targeted advertising via Google, Facebook and Instagram.

You can refuse the use of cookies (in part) by clicking on the “Change preferences” button at the top of this page or by selecting the desired cookie settings in your browser. The Consumers’ Association has a webpage that explains this step by step.

Additional information

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to track how users use the website and how effective our Adwords advertisements are on Google search result pages. The information obtained in this way, including your computer’s address (IP address), is transferred to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Please read Google’s privacy policy for more information. Google uses this information to track how our website is used, to provide us with reports about the website and to offer its advertisers information about the effectiveness of their campaigns. Google may provide this information to third parties if Google is legally required to do so, or insofar as these third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. We have no influence on this. We have not permitted Google to use the analytics information obtained for other Google services.

Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram

This site includes buttons for sharing pages on social networks such as Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. These buttons are created using code provided by Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram. Among other things, this code places a cookie on your device. Please read the privacy policies of Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram (which may change regularly) to see what they do with the personal data they process using this code.

Remarketing

UvH uses remarketing cookies and pixels on this site, which are used for activities related to study information, such as announcing open days and trial lectures. Cookies are small pieces of code embedded in specific pages for the purpose of compiling a remarketing list based on a cookie ID. Google cookies enable us to display relevant advertisements within the Google search engine. Facebook pixels ensure that, if you are logged into Facebook, we can show you relevant advertisements on Facebook and Instagram and measure the results.
