Local partnerships

The UvH considers it important to be connected with organisations in Utrecht. We collaborate on a structural basis with Utrecht University, UMC Utrecht and Utrecht University of Applied Sciences (Hogeschool Utrecht). We also participate in local networks such as the knowledge platform Utrecht Sociaal, a network of knowledge partners and social organisations that work together on solutions to important issues in the social domain in the region.

The UvH and the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU) collaborate in the field of art and science under the name Meaningful Artistic Research (MAR). The UvH is also a proud partner of the Utrecht Summer School. Every year, the Summer School offers around 160 courses in the summer, attended by around 3,000 students and professionals from all over the world.

The UvH is a partner of the Betweterfestival, which takes place annually in Tivoli Vredenburg to connect science with society. With the same goal in mind, the UvH also collaborates with the Utrecht Library and the initiative de Tussenruimte, which focuses on local dialogue about specific problems and themes that play a role in neighbourhoods and districts in the city of Utrecht.

Our students and staff make use of the University Library of Utrecht University, the Olympos Sports Centre and the Parnassos Cultural Centre. Prospective students receive an invitation to the Utrecht Introduction Week (UIT), the annual introduction to the university city for all first-year students.

The Incluusion programme of Utrecht Univesity offers refugee students an opportunity to further develop their skills by attending bachelor courses for free, also at the University of Humanistic Studies. For more information please contact Joanne Maloney at the International Office, email: io@uvh.nl.
