Extra hygiene measures

The current hygiene measures have been expanded following the RIVM’s advisory: we ask all staff members, students and visitors to not shake hands.

The main hygiene measures you can take personally to avoid spreading coronavirus:

  • Wash your hands regularly
  • Cough and sneeze into the inside of your elbow
  • Use paper towels and immediately discard them after use
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
  • Do not shake hands

These measures apply for all viruses that cause flu and colds. So it is important to implement them.

Posters issued by the government and the World Health Organisation with instructions for personal hygiene will be displayed in toilets and on notice boards.

The following measures continue to apply:

The UvH has tightened its cleaning protocol. Spots and areas such as banisters, door handles, taps, soap dispensers, information and reception desks, telephones and keyboards at flexible work stations, tables in classrooms, light switches, operating buttons in the elevator, toilets and sinks will be cleaned thoroughly every day.

The UvH has taken a number of extra measures with regard to hygiene. We have also implemented the RIVM guideline to refrain from shaking hands for the time being.
